Palm Beach Shopping Guide: Worth Avenue

Palm Beach: the ocean, relaxation, shopping, shopping, and more…shopping! As a local I take pride in the shopping Palm Beach has to offer, and while it may be abundant, it’s worth the commitment. Some of my favorite Worth Avenue stores are those that I return to time and time again, building relationships and feeling my most confident self each time I leave. Take time out of your vacation and visit these places— you’ll be inspired and transformed!

Worth Avenue Shopping… get to it!

Kassatly’s Fine Linens

“Kassatly’s has specialized in the finest imported and domestic linens, designer lingerie, ladies’ and men’s sweaters, as well as selected menswear, since it was established by Sam and Alice Kassatly in 1923. Their tradition of timeless excellence is carried on today by sons Edward and Robert in Worth Avenue’s oldest shop. This is truly a shop to visit, and a must on anyone’s list.”

This store comes first on my list for a reason. One of my favorites on Worth, Kassatly’s is an iconic Palm Beach store. Whether you are looking for custom designed linens or new and improved sleepwear, this is where you want to be. In fact, this is where you’ll want to move in. And don’t worry guys, the sportswear is something you’ll never want to leave without. This is a must stop, you’ll be forever changed!

Stubbs and Wootton

“Stubbs and Wootton has taken a walk to its new first-floor location in charming Via Parigi. Its line includes needlepoint and velvet slippers (meant to be worn for both formal or casual occasions), sandals, heels, handbags and signature accessories. Frequently seen on everyone from townies to the royalty, Stubbs & Wootton is the best part of the Palm Beach uniform.”

You’ve probably heard of Stubbs and Wootton, and if you haven’t, you’re in for a new addiction. Known most for and most loved for the flawless needlepoint and the velvet dress slippers I’ll never get enough of. The product that Stubbs and Wootton produces is worth every. single. penny. The moment I walked into this store my life changed, and so did my definition of slippers!

Salvatore Ferragamo

“Salvatore Ferragamo is known as the “shoemaker to the stars.” Back in the late 1920's before most of the big names in Italian fashion were even born, Salvatore Ferragamo was crafting beautiful shoes for some of the most famous feet in Hollywood.”

With Salvatore Ferragamo originating in Italy, you know it’s a good one. Salvatore Ferragamo is known for it’s high-end, luxury goods. Specializing in in shoes, leather goods, Swiss-made timepieces, and ready-to-wear for men and women, you will fall in love with an array of items in this store. Some of my favorite pieces come from Salvatore Ferragamo.

Betteridge

“Betteridge, now in its 115th year on the island of Palm Beach, is the quintessential blend of the old and new. Both firms opened for business in the late 1800s, joining forces in 2006, merging Betteridge’s expertise in estate purchasing with Greenleaf‘s flair for new designers. Custom designs, jewelry repair, appraisal service and estate purchasing make Betteridge at Greenleaf & Crosby a Palm Beach institution. Integrity is their hallmark.”

Each time I walk into Betteridge, it feels like I have walked into a museum made only for the elite. Specializing in estate jewelry, it is a challenge for me to narrow down my choices. Betteridge is a beautiful, must-stop-shop on Worth, even just to experience it all!

Eye of the Needle

“Eye of the Needle originated in Boston on prestigious Newbury Street; branching to the island of Nantucket as well as Palm Beach. Over the years the store has transformed into a "go to" boutique where there is something for everyone. Just as we change our front windows daily, we are constantly getting in new "fashion forward" clothes and accessories.”

My first job in retail was on Nantucket in my late teens/early twenties, and it so happened to be at Eye of the Needle’s Nantucket store. It was there I fell deeper into my love for fashion and all the avenues you can take with it. Years later and many miles away, I am still close with my former boss and now have the opportunity to support (frequently), the Palm Beach location of Eye of the Needle!
