Dressing Like an Equestrian for Shoppers who Don't Horseback Ride

Are you one of those fashionistas who want to look polished and well put together? Is there an equestrian-inspired item, or a “stable style” element in a picture that just takes your breath away? Join the club! There are many horse-lovers who are obsessed with looking polished and well-dressed, even if they’re not horseback riders.

Not a horseback rider? That’s ok!

You can still get that polished equestrian, “stable style,” look. I’ll tell you which essential equestrian-inspired products you may consider purchasing to look like you’ve just come from the stable!

Fitted Blazar, Tailored Jacket

Need help choosing the right jacket?

The blazer has a habit of improving the aesthetics of whatever it's paired with. Equestrians wear jackets during horse show competitions. The style is fitted for performance purposes.

Though I adore the style, blazers that fit loosely are just not flattering on me. That’s why I highly recommend you look at my picks for genuine equestrian show jumping competition blazers and coats, as well as name-brand fitted blazers.

I love tailored blazers MAINLY BECAUSE… it is flattering on almost every body type!

Tall Black Boots

Der Dau is a staple in equestrian tall boots. Here is a picture of Joe & me in Brooklyn, NY, where his custom-leather warehouse has been operating for generations. Check out My Der Dau Boots

Equestrians wear tall black boots for horse show competitions and also for practicing at home. Most equestrians choose knee-high boots, also known in the equestrian world as “tall boots,” in matte black with no embellishments. (At least in the hunter/jumpers!)

For non-equestrians, knee-high boots are functional, slimming, elegant, and classic. If you’re like me and are petite (short), you’ll love my picks for tall boots because they go a bit higher up on your leg. My advice? Buy the real deal! I have a mix of real equestrian tall boots and name-brand not-for-horseback riding boots for you to browse.

I have noticed a major increase in knee-high boots in trendy scenes, especially now as Pre-Fall 2021 is released. Tall boots will always be an essential shoe style to own, but if you want to look particularly forward in 2021, get yourself a pair of equestrian-inspired knee-high boots. Here are my suggestions:

Fresh & Classic

A pair of pearl stud earrings are timeless and elegant. I wear them when I ride, in or out of the show ring.

Aren’t pearl studs old-fashioned? Will they make me look outdated? The short answer is no. Pearl studs will always have their place in the fashion world.

Here’s how to wear pearl studs for a modern look:
